Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship covers tuition, university accommodation and comprehensive medical insurance valued at CNY 800 per year.

Continued funding depends on passing the annual scholarship review. Tuition, university dormitory and stipend benefits are suspended when students cannot study on campus.
Eligibility and Language Requirements
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with valid passports and meet BUCT’s academic requirements.
- Master’s: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; under 35.
- PhD: Master’s degree or equivalent; under 40.
For English-taught programs:

BUCT also accepts an equivalent language certificate recognized by the university. Native English speakers are exempt from English-language evidence.
Chinese-taught programs require HSK Level 4 with at least 180 points. Follow the language requirement of your selected program.
Required Documents
Prepare:
- BUCT and CSC online applications.
- CV, personal statement and research proposal.
- Passport copy and Chinese visa page, if applicable.
- Certified or notarized academic qualifications and transcripts in Chinese or English.
- Two recommendations from professors or associate professors.
- Acceptance letter from a BUCT supervisor.
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
- Required language proficiency evidence.
- Police-issued non-criminal record in Chinese or English.
- Publications, patents and other academic achievements, if available.
- Other supporting documents requested during application.
A BUCT supervisor’s acceptance letter must be uploaded for the applicant to be considered.
How to Apply
- Contact a suitable BUCT supervisor and obtain the required acceptance letter.
- Complete the BUCT online application.
- Complete the CSC online application, selecting Type B and agency number 10010.
- Upload the required documents and submit both applications before 28 February 2027.
- Monitor your email and application account for further instructions.
The university’s admission guide lists a CNY 500 application fee, payable after passing the preliminary examination, followed by a comprehensive interview.
