Scholarship Benefits

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:

- Obtain an acceptance letter from a BUCT supervisor.
English Language Requirements
For English-taught doctoral programs, BUCT requires one of the following:
- TOEFL: at least 90.
- IELTS overall: at least 6.5.
- An equivalent language proficiency certificate recognized by the university.
Native English speakers are exempt from providing English-language proficiency evidence.
Required Documents
Prepare and upload the following documents:
- Curriculum Vitae — CV.
- Personal Statement.
- Study Proposal or Research Plan.
- Passport Copy: Include the passport photo page and Chinese visa page, if applicable. Your passport must remain valid for enrolment in September 2027.
- Academic Qualifications: Certified or notarized copies of the required degree certificates or schooling certificates, in Chinese or English.
- Academic Transcripts: Certified or notarized academic records from undergraduate studies onward, as applicable, in Chinese or English.
- Two Recommendation Letters: Issued by professors or associate professors.
- BUCT Supervisor Acceptance Letter: Obtain the university’s acceptance letter from a BUCT supervisor and upload it with your application.
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
- Language Proficiency Certificate: Provide the evidence required for your selected program.
- Non-Criminal Record: Issued by the local police authority, in Chinese or English.
- Academic Achievements, if available: Publications, patents and other supporting academic evidence.
- Other Supporting Documents: Submit any additional materials requested by the university.
Important: BUCT states that applicants who do not upload the required supervisor acceptance letter and application materials will not be considered candidates.
How to Apply
Step 1: Obtain a Supervisor Acceptance Letter
Find a suitable BUCT supervisor and obtain the required acceptance letter. Use the official template linked below.
Step 2: Register on the BUCT Portal
Create and activate an account on the BUCT Online Application Portal.
Step 3: Complete Your Application
Enter your personal and academic information, upload the required documents and submit your application for university evaluation.
Your name, passport number and other personal details must match your passport.
Step 4: Follow the University’s Instructions
Monitor your application account and email for updates. The university’s postgraduate admission procedure includes preliminary review, application-fee payment and a comprehensive interview.
Application fee: The 2027 admission guide lists CNY 500, payable after passing the preliminary examination. Follow the payment instructions provided by BUCT.
