Required Documents List Central South University

1.  Fill out the University Online application form.
2. Copies Highest Degree Certificate (Notarized copy)
3. Copies of Transcripts of Highest Education (Notarized copy)
4. Research proposal. A study plan(e.g. CSU Study Plan.docx) written in Chinese or English shall contain more than 1,000 characters or words; Please specify the previous research background, research achievements, prospective research field, research plan, etc. The proposal of a doctoral student shall be signed by the applicant’s supervisor at CSU;
5. A copy of the bank receipt for the material reviewing fee of RMB yuan 500.
6. Two Recommendation Letters (The issue date should be after October 1, 2025.)
7. Other supporting documents (For Example, published papers, awards & certificates)
8.  Photocopy Passport ( with more than one year availability)
9. The statement Didn’t get any other form of aid. Click here to download 
10. Non-criminal record report. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority after The issue date should be after October 1, 2025.
11. English Proficiency Certificate
12. For medical majors, provide the hsk4 certificate or any other certificate
13. A personal statement that the applicant has not been funded by any other organizations or institutions (please see format at  Personal Statement.docx)
14. Personal statement video (Please explain your education and research background, and show your research potential & ability within 1 minute. The video size should be no larger than 40MB, and the video format should be MP4);
