Required Documents List

1. Fill out the online application form at http://apply.shnu.edu.cn, upload all the necessary documents, and pay the application fee online.

   Checklist for application (Please prepare the PDF of the following documents beforehand. )

   1. Shanghai Government Scholarship application form （click to download）

   2.Passport scanned copies(Main page of passport, in JPG, PNG or PDF)

   3. Applicants who are living in China should also provide a scanned copy of a valid visa or resident permit

   4. Photo (passport size, in JPG or PNG)

   5 . Scanned copies of notarized certifications of the full transcript (including senior secondary school, bachelor or master).

   1)Applicants for the bachelor program should provide a full transcript of high school.

   2)Applicants for master’s programs should provide a full transcript in the bachelor period.

   3)Applicants for the Ph.D program should provide full transcripts in bachelor and master periods.

   6 . Scanned copies of notarized certifications of the highest education level achieved (including senior secondary school, bachelor or master).

   7. Personal Statement. It should include your financial status, educational background, academic or working performance, and reasons for applying for scholarships. It should be written in either Chinese or English with no more than 1000 words.

   8 . Valid language certificate or report.

   9. Two recommendation letters from professors.

   10 . Medical examination form issued by the hospital.

   11 . Non-Criminal Record Certificate in Chinese or English issued by the police or former school.

   12.Ph.D program applicants should provide the abstract and content of their master’s degree thesis.

   13 . Application fee: RMB 520 (USD $ 80) paid online or by bank transfer.

   14. A Guarantee Statement is required for applicants who are under 18.
