HEC Type A Scholarship 2026–2027

Important New Requirement (Mandatory for Undergraduate Applicants)

CSCA Test is Mandatory for ALL undergraduate applicants (Type-A & Type-B).
✔ Must take CSCA test on 21 December 2025 and upload score report.

Eligibility Criteria (Updated 2026–27)

  1. Must be Pakistani/AJK national.

  2. Must be in good health.

  3. Applicants with incomplete degrees on last date cannot apply.

  4. Undergraduate: Intermediate/A-Level/FA/FSc, age < 25.

  5. Masters: 16-year bachelor degree, age < 35.

  6. PhD: MS/MPhil, age < 40.

  7. Must meet CSC & university academic requirements.

  8. Cannot hold any other scholarship simultaneously.

  9. HAT or USAT test is mandatory:

    • USAT: Valid score ≥ 50/100 (after Jan 06, 2025).

    • HAT: Valid score ≥ 50/100 (after Jan 06, 2024).

    • Upcoming test on 07 December 2025 is acceptable.

  10. Test validity:

    • USAT: 1 year

    • HAT: 2 years


Important Notes (Updated)

  • Applicants for professional degrees (MBBS, Pharmacy, Engineering, Law, Architecture, Nursing, Veterinary, etc.) must confirm accreditation with respective councils (PMDC, PEC, PVMC, PNC, PCATP, PBC etc.).

  • Medical applicants must follow PMDC public notices (Sep 8 & Oct 22, 2025).


KEY POINTS (Mandatory & Updated for 2026–27)

  1. Carefully read CSC Instructions & Guidelines before applying.

  2. CGS awardees cannot receive any other scholarship at the same time.

  3. Applicants must carefully select universities/programs.

  4. Contact university for admission confirmation, exam/interview requirements, and pre-admission details.

  5. Pre-admission letter is mandatory (at least one) for ALL categories.

  6. CSCA test mandatory for undergraduate applicants.

  7. HSK Requirements:

    • Chinese-taught Masters/PhD → HSK level 4

    • General scholars → HSK level 3

  8. No admission adjustment if all selected universities reject you.

  9. Candidates who decline admission after selection → 3-year ban.

  10. Documents in languages other than English/Chinese must have notarized translation.

  11. Current CSC scholars applying for extension need Letter of Approval only.

  12. Embassy-level review → eligibility, documents, study plan, interview/written test.

  13. CSC final review → university placement & adjustments.

How to Apply (Updated Step-by-Step)

1. Apply Online via HEC Portal

  • Visit: https://scholarship.hec.gov.pk

  • Create profile → “Learning Opportunities Abroad”

  • Submit application

  • Keep a signed print for your record

  • Ensure valid email & phone number

2. Apply Online via CSC Portal

Both HEC & CSC applications are mandatory.
Incomplete/saved-but-not-submitted applications will be rejected.

3. CSCA Test for Undergraduate Applicants

  • Register for CSCA Test on 21 December 2025

  • Upload score report to CSC portal

  • Mandatory for September 2026 intake

  1. Notarized educational documents (Matric, Inter, Bachelor, Masters) + CNIC + Domicile + Birth Certificate + Equivalence (if required)

  2. Study Plan/Research Proposal:

    • Bachelors: 200 words

    • Masters: 800 words

    • PhD: 800–1500 words

  3. Language Proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL/HSK if applicable)

  4. Valid Passport (till 01 March 2027)

  5. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (valid 6 months)

  6. Police Clearance Certificate (issued last 6 months)

  7. Pre-admission letter (optional but highly preferred for Masters/PhD)

  8. Two Recommendation Letters (Masters/PhD)

  9. NOC from employer (if employed)

  10. Legal guardian documents (if under 18)

  • First fill HEC online application

  • Apply for HEC USAT/HAT test (mandatory)

  • Fill CSC Scholarship online application (Agency No. 5861)

  • Upload all documents on both portals

  • CSCA Test mandatory for undergraduate (New)
