Chinese Government Scholarship Eligibility Criteria for Students

1. Chinese Government Scholarship 2027 is open to international students (non-Chinese citizens).
2. For Master’s, the age limit is under 35 years; for Ph.D., under 40 years.
3. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree for Master’s and a Master’s degree for Ph.D.
4. Chinese-taught programs require HSK 5 (minimum 180).
5. English-taught programs require IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80. An English Proficiency/Medium of Instruction Certificate is acceptable if the highest degree was taught in English.
6. English-taught MBA applicants have additional requirements.

5. Upload all required documents to the CSC and university portals as instructed.
6. Submit both applications before January 15, 2027.

1. CSC Online Application Form (Agency Number 10056, Type B).
2. Tianjin University Online Application Form.
3. Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Certificates (as applicable).
4. Academic Transcripts from Bachelor’s degree onward.
5. Study Experience Resume (starting from senior middle school).
6. Study Plan or Research Proposal (minimum 1000 words).
7. Two Recommendation Letters from Professors or Associate Professors.
8. Passport Information Page (valid beyond September 2027).
9. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (examination after September 30, 2026).
10. Acceptance Letter from TJU Supervisor (upload if obtained; mandatory for English-taught MBA).
11. Police Clearance Certificate (issued within six months before application).
12. Chinese or English Proficiency Certificate (IELTS/TOEFL or eligible English-Medium Certificate).
13. Published Research Papers or Formal Acceptance Notification (mandatory for Ph.D., optional for Master’s).
14. Visa Copy and University Performance Certificate (for applicants currently studying in China).
