Scholarship Benefits
The Chinese Government Scholarship covers:

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be non-Chinese citizens holding valid ordinary passports.
- Be in good physical and mental health.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree and be under 35 when applying for a Master’s.
- Hold a Master’s degree and be under 40 when applying for a PhD.
- Meet the academic and language requirements of their chosen program.
- Not receive another scholarship concurrently.
Language Requirements
English-taught programs:
- IELTS 6.0 or above.
- TOEFL 80 or above.
- Duolingo 110 or above.
- Other language qualifications may be accepted with XJTU approval.
Chinese-taught programs: Generally HSK Level 4 with at least 180 points. International Chinese Language Education requires HSK Level 5 with at least 180 points. Additional program-specific requirements may apply.
Required Documents
Prepare the following:
- Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form.
- XJTU application form.
- Academic degree certificates or an expected-graduation certificate.
- Notarized academic transcripts.
- Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors.
- Study plan or research proposal.
- Language proficiency certificate.
- Valid passport.
- Physical examination form and blood-test report.
- Valid non-criminal record certificate.
- Research publications or achievements, if available.
Documents must be in Chinese or English, with notarized translations where required.
Some schools require a recommendation letter from a potential XJTU supervisor. Applicants should check the requirements of their chosen program.
How to Apply
- Complete the CSC Online Application.
- Select Type B and enter agency number 10698.
- Download, print and sign the CSC application form.
- Submit the required documents through the XJTU Online Application System.
- After passing the initial review, follow the university’s payment notice.
Applications are submitted online; hard-copy applications are not accepted.
Application Deadline
31 March 2027, 17:00 Beijing time is the general scholarship deadline in XJTU’s 2027 postgraduate guide.
Important: A separate 2027 High-Level Postgraduate Program cutoff has not been verified. Applicants should monitor subsequent notices for any earlier scholarship-specific deadline.
