Beihang University (BUAA), one of China’s leading universities in aerospace and engineering, has announced the 2027 Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) High-Level Postgraduate Program for international students.
The scholarship is funded by the Chinese Government and offers fully funded Master’s and Doctoral degree opportunities for outstanding international applicants for the September 2027 intake.

Scholarship Benefits
The Chinese Government Scholarship covers:

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be citizens of countries other than the People’s Republic of China.
- Must be in good physical and mental health.
- Must meet Beihang University’s academic admission requirements.
For Master’s Applicants:
- Must hold a Bachelor’s degree.
- Must be under 35 years of age.
For PhD Applicants:
- Must hold a Master’s degree.
- Must be under 40 years of age.
Language Requirements
Chinese-Taught Programs:
- HSK Level 5 or above.
- Minimum HSK score: 180.
- HSK results must be within two years.
Applicants with HSK Level 3 or 4 may apply for a one-year Chinese language training program if their selected major offers this option. They must pass HSK Level 5 with a minimum score of 180 after completing the language training.
Applicants whose previous education was conducted in Chinese at a Chinese university do not need to provide an HSK certificate.
English-Taught Programs:
Applicants must provide one of the following:
- IELTS Academic: 6.0 or above.
- TOEFL: 90 or above.
- Duolingo: 105 or above.
English proficiency results must be within two years.
Submitting GRE scores is also recommended, if available.
Required Application Documents
Applicants should prepare the following documents:
- Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form.
- Passport biodata page.
- Notarized highest degree certificate.
- Official academic transcripts from undergraduate studies onwards.
- Chinese or English language proficiency certificate.
- Acceptance Letter from a Beihang University supervisor.
- Study Plan Proposal signed by the supervisor.
- Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors.
- Academic achievements, published research papers, awards or other supporting materials, if available.
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
- Non-Criminal Record Certificate.
- Integrity Commitment Letter.
- Updated CV or Resume.
- List of Application Documents and Post Address Confirmation.
Important Document Requirements:
- The study plan must be written in Chinese or English and contain more than 1,000 characters or words, as specified by the university.
- Two recommendation letters must be written in Chinese or English.
- The physical examination result is valid for six months.
- The Non-Criminal Record Certificate should generally be issued within six months before application.
- Applicants with work experience should provide employment certificates issued and stamped by their employers.
- Documents not written in Chinese or English must be accompanied by notarized translations.
- All uploaded documents must be clear, authentic and valid.
Application Procedure
Applicants must complete their applications through both the Beihang University application system and the Chinese Government Scholarship online system.
Step 1: Contact a Beihang University Supervisor
Applicants are required to contact professors in advance to discuss their intended major, supervisor and research direction and obtain a supervisor acceptance letter.
Step 2: Apply Through Beihang University
Visit the official Beihang International Student Online Application System:
Register an account, complete the online application form and upload all required documents.
Step 3: Apply Through the CSC Online Application System
Visit:

Enter the following information:
- Program Category: Type B
- Agency Number: 10006
- University: Beihang University
Complete the CSC application and upload the required supporting documents.
Applicants must complete both application systems, and the information and documents submitted in both systems must be consistent.
Step 4: Pay the Application Fee
The application fee is 400 RMB.
Payment must be made through bank remittance. The university does not accept payments through WeChat, Alipay, PayPal or cash.
The application fee is non-refundable.
Note: Beihang University fresh graduates do not need to pay the application fee.
Step 5: Document Review and Interviews
Beihang University will conduct document reviews, preliminary interviews and academic interviews in different application batches.
Interviews will be conducted online through Zoom or Tencent Meeting.
Step 6: Final Scholarship Selection
Beihang University will recommend selected candidates to the China Scholarship Council (CSC).
The CSC will conduct the final evaluation and determine the successful scholarship recipients.
Successful applicants can download their admission notices and relevant documents through the CSC application system.
